Limitations
- CJK text is counted per character (each Han character, kana or syllable counts as one word) — the standard approximation for languages without spaces.
- Numbers, URLs and hyphenated compounds each count as a single word.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it count Chinese text?
Chinese, Japanese and Korean text has no spaces between words, so each CJK character counts as one word — the widely used approximation. Punctuation is excluded.
Does it count spaces?
The Characters stat includes spaces; Characters (no spaces) excludes them. Both are shown.
Is my text uploaded?
