About WriteKit

WriteKit is a free, browser-first suite of word and text tools. Write, edit, clean and convert text directly in your browser — no signup, no installation, no upload.

What WriteKit does

WriteKit bundles a full online word editor with more than twenty focused text tools: word and character counters, cleaners that fix extra spaces and duplicate lines, case converters, find and replace with regular expressions, text comparison, and converters between plain text, HTML, Markdown, DOCX and PDF.

Every tool works the moment the page loads. There is no account to create and no queue — the software runs on your machine.

How WriteKit works

Your browser does all of the work. Text you paste, type or open is processed by JavaScript running on your device and is never sent to a server. Documents you save are kept in your browser's local IndexedDB database, so drafts stay on the computer where you wrote them.

Because processing is local, the tools keep working even when you are offline, and there is no backend that could retain a copy of your content.

What's included

The suite covers writing (online word editor, notepad, rich-text editor), counting (words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, reading and speaking time), cleaning (extra spaces, empty and duplicate lines, line breaks, formatting), case conversion, comparison and search (text compare, find and replace) and conversion (text to HTML, HTML to text, Markdown to HTML, text to Markdown, text to PDF, DOCX import and export).

Each tool page documents exactly how it behaves, with examples and an honest list of its limitations.

Our principles

Privacy first: nothing you write leaves your device. Free forever: every tool is usable without payment or registration. Honest limits: where a tool has constraints, the page says so instead of hiding it behind marketing claims.
